PSHM by Earthquake Category (PSHM by EQ Cat.)
- PSHM by Earthquake Category (PSHM by EQ Cat.) -
The earthquakes are grouped into three categories in terms of its properties to make
the seismic hazard information usable well.
PSHM by Earthquake Category indicates probability distribution on the given groups
in quartiles (*) to show its relative influence in whole of Japan.
(*)Four colors are allocated to represent the four equivalent-quantities of datasets
where the whole meshes are sorted based on its exceedance probability with a descending order.
- Contribution Factor of PSHM (CF of PSHM) -
The PSHM Contribution Factor maps display distributions of the most contributive
earthquake category, which are based on the exceedance probabilities of each category.
The Contribution Factor at each site varies dependent on the ground motion level.
Maps of PSHM by EQ Cat. are displayed by selecting the tab "PSHM by EQ Cat.".

Selecting the Earthquake Category
You can select the Earthquake Category from the combobox on the toolbar.
Maps of CF of PSHM are displayed by selecting "CF of PSHM". You can see the lists of the earthquake category at Glossary.
Selecting probability case
You can select a probability case from "Average Case" and "Maximum Case" using radio button.
NOTE:
-
From 2014 version to 2019 version
"Maximum Case" with Category II cannot be selected because they are not calculated.
-
Before 2014 version
"Maximum Case" with Category I and II cannot be selected because they are not calculated.
Selecting a type of map
You can select a type of map from the combobox on the toolbar.
Selecting condition
You cannot select the map with reference date of 2008/1/1 because it is not calculated.
If you select it, the window shown in the following figure appears.
